About
As one of my students you will receive one of a kind lessons! When we meet, I will assess your goals and skill level and tailor your lessons specifically for you! I am a very dedicated teacher. I will always find a way to help my students understand their artwork and grow as artists.
I have also taught people of ALL skill levels. If you are looking to just enjoy art, I have a library of works that we can paint together step by step.
I have been teaching for over a year now and I love every minute of it. It is for sure my dream job. I enjoy watching the growth of a students artwork. I love seeing when a concept suddenly clicks in their brain. I love it when my students get excited once everything comes together in a painting. The moment an artist feels pride in their work is definitely worth all the trial and error.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I offer free meet and greet before lessons are determined. This will involve getting to know the student. Determining skill level. (All skill levels welcome) Uncovering what the student's goals are for their artwork. Also a chance for you to scope out my work to see if you think we would be a good fit!
If you are just looking to have fun doing some art, you are still in the right place! I offer step by step painting as well.
Once we are set on lessons, I will provide a form going over my studio policies. This must be signed and returned at the time of first lesson. If you are under the age of 19 it must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Supplies for lesson are supplied. However, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing a sketchbook and some drawing materials. We can go over specifics in our first meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been an instructor for acrylic painting at Painting with a Twist for over a year. I have also been a mostly self-artist for 16+ years.

How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a desire to teach. I believe if you have a gift for something, it should be shared with the world. Over a year ago I got comfortable with my skill level as an artist and on a whim applied at Painting with a Twist. Long-story, short, my passion was reaffirmed and I will continue to teach as long as I am able.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kids above the age of 5 all the way to older adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was teaching a galaxy, landscape class and I had a student literally ask if I was Bob Ross reincarnated. It made my heart glow! It is my goal to be as good as the Bob for sure!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise my students the best way to get better is to practice! Practice means, finding art, photography, people, whatever it is that inspires you. It means doing studies, trying to draw or paint whatever you see. Start small and work your way into more complex concepts.
Also, DO NOT be discouraged if at first you can't draw or paint exaclty what you see. Art can be a talent, but that talent still needs to be nurtured. Not many are able to paint like a pro in their first attempt. I can show you some of my old paintings if you like.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want my artwork to look like? What are my goals?
What are my favorite artworks? What inspires me?
What do I want to learn? Is it painting people? Landscapes? Animals? etc
Remember we all start somewhere. It is always good to have a clear goal in mind, especially to get better at art!
