Music Wizard Drums
About
I've been playing drums for about thirteen years and teaching for the last three, I have experience in writing drum parts for original music and performing live. I have experience playing Rock, Metal, Punk, Jazz, and Prog. I really try to just have a fun time during the lesson with the student, it's important to learn but it's also important to enjoy the process of making music and learning a new skill. It shouldn't be work, but an outlet for creativity.
I truly enjoy helping those who wish to learn drums express themselves through the instrument and just having a fun time during the lesson!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For the first lesson I would assess what they may already know, if they have no prior experience I teach them a few simple beats and fills as well as some snare work, playing along with a simple song at the end. At the end of the lesson I would ask them to choose a song they would like to learn and go over it with them, teaching them how to listen to the drum parts in a song and playing the drums based on listening to the song.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My mother was a music teacher for twelve years and I have also learned five instruments and had a myriad of teachers. I also helped design a teaching module in the Italian department at Purdue University and taught a class using the module I had designed.
