Here is a performance from an MM recital in the spring of 2017.
Having earned a Bachelors and Masters in piano performance from Depaul University and SUNY purchase, I have performed in Steinway Hall, Pianoforte Studios and at Allegro Recording Studios in Los Angeles. I have performed across Europe, Canada, and the United States. Maintaining a studio in both Chicago and New York, I have experience teaching ages 5-16.
I am also a member of the MTNA and I hope to register my students for competitions and recitals across the city and country.
Great with kids, I intend to nurture and introduce elementary music concepts to the young. With fun games and activities incorporated into every lesson, kids will approach music in a way that is interactive and exciting. Leading up to the Holiday and Spring Recitals, students grow week by week with their lesson plans and little pieces, eventually growing into autonomous musicians. Piano serves as the base to any instrument, and from that springboard, they can take on a variety of musical pursuits.

How did you get started teaching?
I always had a dream to teach kids music, as my favorite part of childhood (& adulthood!) was my interaction music. Whether it be school choirs or bands, personal rock bands, young orchestras, jazz bands, or songwriting...it all stemmed from my elementary piano lessons!
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly ages 5-10
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Corbix Piano Studio Recital: Spring --
15 students met in Downtown Chicago to perform little pieces and share Donuts + Milk afterwards. All the students were able to dress up and play.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that when picking a teacher, they approach music with a strong philosophy or moral hold. If the teacher is just working for money or status, then they will not 'love' what they do. The secret to a good student-teacher relationship is that the teacher is truly invested in the students success.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Having parents involved at a young age is important, because they know the strengths + weaknesses that their child will encounter. Piano lessons are a weekly event that will require practicing and attention, so it is important parents and teachers have an open relationship about the childs needs.
