About
I am a piano teacher in Upper Manhattan offering piano lessons in all styles of music for ages 5 and above, from beginner to advanced. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree and a great deal of experience performing and teaching piano lessons. I have been teaching piano lessons since 2012. My performance career is primarily as a singer/songwriter in pop, rock, and contemporary music styles, influenced by jazz. I perform regularly at festivals, clubs, and other music venues with my singer/songwriting projects. My piano teaching draws from a variety of approaches, and I am familiar with the Suzuki method, Kodaly, and solfège, as well as preparation for classical and jazz piano exams through the ABRSM. My qualifications and experience in a wide range of musical genres allows my piano lessons to be flexible, catered to her students' musical interests.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin by figuring out the current level of the student if they have any prior experience, or starting with the very basics if they don't. We figure out their goals, and discuss the best plan to achieve those goals. I explain the best ways to practice, what I expect from the student, and what they can expect from me. Of course, I make sure they know we will be having a lot of fun!
