Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Based on their level, I like to give a couple pieces to work on with, including technique, improving musical ability and of course, theory as homework. Challenging is one of my part if I see a really big potential in the student. However, I balance up and pair up with something easy and the other challenging pieces. Usually, in the beginning, I would ask what pieces or goals they are trying to reach in learning piano. I believe, some certain pieces could attract students and motivates them to practice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have started playing piano when I was eight. I believe it is slightly late age to start with since nowadays, students start early, like three years old. However, it is never too late to learn piano from any ages. After being focused in music, I joined a couple conservatory music before I pursued my undergraduate study in piano performance and now, I am pursuing my graduate study in one of the most prestigious music school in piano performance. I believe, those skills that I learn at school, could be passed on to my students.
