My approach is warm and communicative. I grew up sometimes intimidated by my teachers in private lessons and I don't want that to happen with any of my students. I want us both to have fun teaching and learning. If not, what's the point? I also believe that learning is worth it. It's good for everyone. Whatever level you are in your pursuit, there is nothing as satisfying as meeting or getting closer to your personal goals. Helping you get there by coaching and teaching is a really joyful and meaningful thing for me.
I enjoy sharing the things I'm passionate about. I nerd out over the subjects that I teach and it is naturally fun to teach things you like and like to do. Music, travel and food are pretty much my favorite things in the world. Teaching music (voice, violin and viola) and teaching Spanish or English for English language learners really touches on a lot of those passions (just missing the food part! :) I absolutely love watching my students grow and discover things along the way in their road to their goals.

It's important to have a meeting of the minds and figure out together what our goals are moving forward. Each student has their own reasons for being here. It is my job to recognize their goals, mirror them.back to them and be the supportive force necessary to guide them through. Our goals are ever evolving and it's all about the baby steps. We create a plan of digestible deliverable goals and we knock them out of the park one by one. Communication is key though and that's how we start.
I've been a teacher, tutor and coach for nearly ten years. My students have ranged from toddlers (group music classes and private violin lessons) through to school age kids in English and music, and private lessons and tutoring to high school and adults. I teach private voice lessons which is my specialty, and continue to educate myself vocally across genres and with a focus on vocal wellness. I am a seasoned vocal professional with a 15 year and counting singing career.
