Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know the student and evaluate their level by hearing them sing and getting them started with breath support exercises. I ask them where their previous studies have been, if any, and begin to teach and/or review the basics of a classical technique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience singing on the opera and concert stages. Starting with a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Rhode Island College; Fellowship at the Boston Sympony Orchestra's Tanglewood Institute; studied Italian, German & Frence privately in NYC and at the Fashion Institute of Technology; Opera Apprenticeships early in my training at The Sarasota Opera, Virginia Opera, as well as a Artist in Residence program with Opera San Jose.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My fee is $100 per 1 hour lesson
How did you get started teaching?
When I sing a professional job, young singers love the way I sing and often ask me to give them a lesson. They are interested in learning how I sing, and I enjoy sharing this information with them.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with college age students. I would like to work with beginners as well.
