About

Hi everyone!

My name is Brandon Ascari and I'm a director, filmmaker and actor. I have over 7 years of professional working experience. I'm metriculating towards my Master of Fine Arts in Integrative Media Arts production and have credits on multiple episodes of MTV's True Life.

I have directed, edited and acted in Callie & Izzy: The Webseries which has screened at numerous film festivals and is currently streaming on many new media platforms. I was assistant editor, one of multiple cinematographers and actor in the feature length film Bernard T. Wards Popcorn Bag of Terror which is now available for sale in select retailers on the east coast. I also have won stage acting awards and acted in several short and feature length films.

Ever since I was in high school, film and television has been my passion. At 15 I made my first video for a class project and was hooked ever since. I've spent hours a day, for years looking for chances to hone my craft and now feel I've gathered enough knowledge to share with the upcoming filmmakers and actors out there!

Frequently asked questions

My style of teaching for my students is to have them learn by doing. If they are studying filmmaking, there should be a camera in their hands everytime, if they are studying acting, we will be acting in each class. Practice, trial and error and commitment to their craft is the way to stand out.

Current MFA graduate student

A friend asked me one time to show them how to do something in post production and after I saw them succeed it lit a fire under me to want more people to learn and become a success story.

I've taught students of all levels from those who have never held a camera to industry professionals.

The most important question is what do you want to get out of this? When you search for the right instructor or are deciding what you want to do, you need to first find out what you are hoping to attain. If you want to work as a colorist for example, then that is what you want to look for. Same for an actor, you must first decide if you want to do stage or film.
