About
I teach each student in a way geared to his or her talent, level of experience and personality. The exercises I give students are specifically for them, as opposed to giving each students the same exercises. Each person has a unique talent which needs to be explored and guided in a very supportive way.
I hold a B.A. in Music from Occidental College and UCLA, and an M.A. in Vocal Performance from New York University. Students may read about me on facebook, Linkedin and my website: www.annabartos.com
I love working with singers who not only have talent, but a love for singing. It gives me great pleasure to help them with both their technique and interpretation, provide performance opportunities whenever possible, and to give them advice about reaching their goals. I am very supportive of my students, and make every effort to attend their performances.

Anna Bartos is a professional singer, actor, director, voice teacher, lecturer and coach, who was a faculty member at New York University for 19 years. She has presented singers and actors in showcases, operas, musical plays for children and adults, and for those in hospitals, senior homes, etc., for more than a decade, as she loves to see folks reach their full potential as performers.

Anna Bartos is not only a superb singing teacher (she knows her music), she is an equally excellent coach, which is a rarity among singing teachers. She is also capable of imparting many helpful nuggets of information about the process of singing and performing that one doesn't usually receive from one's teacher. I found her instruction of enormous value.___ P. Vincent, New York City actor and playwright (showcase performer)
Our caroling performance at the Dwelling Place Women's Shelter
on December 4th was a good, inspiring experience for me, and gave me a chance to sing and blend my voice in group. As a volunteer, I like to help out the community during the holiday season. When we were performing at the Esplanade, I felt that the audience reacted in a very positive, enthusiastic say.

What a rewarding and uplifting experience it was to go caroling at
a Homeless Shelter, a Senior Center, and Anna's neighbor!
Our theme was to "Make Someone Happy," and not only did we
make the receivers happy, it also made us happy to spread holiday cheer! Seeing their smiling faces, singing and clapping along was truly gratifying! Looking forward to more!

Volunteering is one way to connect with people outside of your usual routine. Serving others is also a way to connect with people in other lifestyles as a servant instead of a patron. I personally look for ways to volunteer using specific talents I have, as I believe they are gifts from God and should be given in the same generous spirit as the Giver.
I believe that music is a human necessity, not a luxury, and I look for ways to give humanizing and expressive voice to people who might not otherwise have a chance to experience the arts.
Happy New Year,
Lana (Volunteer accompanist)
