About
I've been a professional songwriter & singer for 15+ years with original music placements in over 100 television shows and films internationally, as well as an ASCAPlus Songwriter Award recipient. I write in every genre, wear multiple musical hats & I am happy to help you write great songs! We can work on lyrics, arrangements, style, performance, harmonies, etc & take your ideas to the next level. I can also give you production tips with my pro studio experience in Logic, choosing demo singers (should you need one), budgeting to make a great demo & advice on the music business (from the songwriter, publisher & singer perspectives).
I enjoy encouraging & helping anyone that wants to write songs (from beginners to advanced) because it is a wonderful way to express ourselves. I understand how rewarding it is to bring your unique life experiences into a solid song form & share it with your family & friends (& the world, if you want to go big)! The best songs come from personal experiences & everyone's got an intersting, personal story to tell.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To best utilize our time, a new student should have a rough draft of a song(s) that we can listen to during the first lesson. If they have multiple songs that they would like to work on together that's great, too. We will assess the composition(s), talk about songwriting strategy & create a list of goals to complete the work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50 per 40 minute lesson.
$75 per 60 minute session.
$25 for written song evaluations (1 song).
I can be flexible & work with your schedule.
How did you get started teaching?
In 2013, I was asked to mentor music students from Denmark's Oure Performing Arts School during their annual visit to NYC. We helped the students improve their original songs before they went in to the studio to record (while in NYC). It was such a rewarding experience that I continued to mentor them for the next 4 years each time they visited the USA. I also coach students in the NYC Public Schools (for special performances), non profit at risk youth organizations, as well as private classes for songwriters & performers of all ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I coached drama students at Aviation High School in stage & live vocal performance for 2 new musicals. We worked on musicality, delivery, stage presence, vocal range & harmonies. We freed the fears that can (sometimes) come with putting yourself out there as a musician & performer. I was so proud of them & what they accomplished in such a short period of time!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to find a mentor who sees the best in you, gives you honest feedback & understands the real world of music (& what you can do with your music once it's completed).
