Eva Stramer Nichols, Artist & Instructor

I emigrated from Denmark to California in 1988, where I settled on the Monterey Peninsula on the Pacific Coast of California.

Inspired by the beauty surrounding me I soon started painting with watercolors and took workshops and lessons from many acclaimed artists.

As I got more serious about my art, I decided to take some time off to find my artistic path, which ultimately resulted in moving up to Truckee, CA in the spring of 2010.

During my sabbatical I walked the 500 mile pilgrimage trail of Camino de Santiago in Spain, I volunteered for Borneo Child Aid in Borneo, teaching watercolors to stateless children on the plantations. My time off culminated in a 5-month stay at Mendocino Art Center as an artist in residence, which started my career as an art instructor. You can check out my website: www.beautyonlocation.com

I love to inspire others to explore their creativity and help them grow artistically.

Recently I was awarded Community Education Instructor of the Year by Truckee Meadows Community College. I am an active member of the ARTisan Shop at North Tahoe Arts in Tahoe City, CA and my artwork can be found in several galleries in California and Nevada.

I spent the Month of March 2015 as an Artist In Residence at St. Mary's Art Center in Virginia City, NV, which gave me the opportunity to produce a new body of work and push my artistic boundaries.
