Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the first lesson, our teachers will ask questions to find out what prior experience (if any) and level of knowledge the student has. Teachers will also ask what musical genre the student is interested in. Also, what goal(s) the students are hoping to achieve. Based on this information, our teachers will tailor the lessons to best fit the musical needs of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am the owner/administrator for the academy. However, I do sing in a barbershop group (SilverStatesmen.com). As the owner, I hire instructors who not only have the education and/or professional experience, but have demonstrated the ability to teach and motivate students to learn, practice, and enjoy music.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer autodebit payments, using Mastercard, VISA, AMEX, or Discover. There is a $45 registration fee. Our weekly lessons are either 30 minutes or 60 minutes in length.
30min - $130 p/month
60min - $255 p/month
How did you get started teaching?
I played percussion through my college years to include the Drum & Bugle Corps while on active duty. However, I don't currently teach. We presently have 30+ instructors for all major instruments and voice.
What types of students have you worked with?
We offer lessons for ages 5 - 105. Our oldest student has been 98 years old. I believe that music is for everyone and everyone can benefit from learning to sing or play an instrument.
We have instructors who are experienced with students with ADHD, Autism, and other learning disabilities. If you have a special need, please call to inquire about details.
