This place is like family on and off the mat. Everyone here truly wants you to succeed no matter what level you are at. They take the time to bring you up as a newbie, pulling you aside to show you what can help you instead of just letting you figure it out on your own. As for Professor Rob, all I can say is wow! This man loves the art and his students. I have been very lucky to help with his kids classes and this mans patients, virtue, technique, and over all mentorship is unparalleled. Any student young and old, kid to adult would/are lucky to have him in their life no matter where that journey takes them.

Professor Rob is amazing. He has taught me so much and I always look forward to learning from him. To him BJJ is more than just fighting, it’s a part of his life and he helps everyone he teaches to be a better person.

The students are very helpful and it feels like family. Professor Robby is very detailed in the way he teaches and really shows care of the development of the school as a whole.

I’ve trained at many schools in Las Vegas and other places for 16 years. I have never felt more at home than at RFT. Professor Rob Lagasca has a unbelievable way of teaching, and it shows that his heart is fully in this sport. Thanks for everything RFT!

How did you get started teaching?

Master Ricardo has been a lifelong martial artist.  As a member of the world famous Carlson Gracie Team he has had the opportunity to train with and learn from some of the legends of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has been teaching Jiu Jitsu at all levels and has even trained UFC world champions as well as providing classes for kids starting at 3 yrs old.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

One of our kids told a story of how they were being bullied by a classmate at school. He said that although he knew he could've hurt the bully very easily, he remembered what he had learned in class about how to avoid physical confrontation without becoming a victim. He told us that the bully was most likely having a bad day or having some other problem so he chose to talk to him instead. Now they are best friends. We teach more than just physical Jiu Jitsu.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a school where you are comfortable. Find a school where don't feel like it is a chore to go and train. Where you feel like you want to train.
