Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Without a doubt my process begins with learning the goals of the student themselves . They are activating they are artistic self by being coached so it is essential for me to know what they wish to achieve through our classes . I have worked with students of all ages and experience. There have been students who came to my classes because they wants to have fun and students who seriously want to whose success and performing arts is already attained . However all my students begin with you using themselves as the raw material which informs The choices they make as an actor . All people are fascinating interesting and complex therefore approaching our work by using real life situations and imaginary way to make each performance personal and unique . I also you use improvisation techniques and each and every class improv is useful in creating an attachment to characters whose lives are very different from our own. So as I saw him up a very complicated answer to a simple question my proposal process begins with knowing what the participant wants to gain from the process itself the work starts immediately and the work is fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my training at UCLA under the mentorship Tony award winner Mel Shapiro. Throughout my MFA program I practiced and attained A wide array of performing arts skills from Shakespeare to contact improvisation to musical theater to producing and acting in my one person show . I consider myselincredibly fortunate to have been taught by the best prior to my time at UCLA and after I graduated I worked as a professional actor in theater and film . I've been on so many auditions and my experience as a working actor informs my students who are preparing for an audition . When I became a mother I decided that the career of a working actress would take me away from the home too often so I began teaching theater and dance to children with moderate to severe disabilities. My 13 years of working with this population has taught me more than I ever thought possible I realized through my experience that everyone no matter how seemingly limited they may be has an artist and a performer within them .
