About
Hello! I'm Tyler! I've been working with students of all ages and skill levels for over 10 years. Through my exprience working at a performing arts camps, teaching privately, teaching for guitar center, and at school of rock-like programs, I have learned to structure a curriculum that is specific to the student personal goals and interests while blending a more traditional background in note-reading, technique, pitch recognition, and general music history.
Spreading the gift and joy of music! Helping students young and old discover and develop their abilities and deepen their appreciation and love for art and music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The most important step in progress as a musician is understanding how you learn. I have worked with students of all ages and all skill levels and have learned to blend a combination of the traditional technical and theory route with an emphasis on the students personal interests and preferences. In terms of a process, I find that when I help students set small goals, week-to-week which will lead towards a larger month-to-month goals, their progress becomes traceable, and students are able to recognize it themselves.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an associates degree in classical guitar performance and theory from Nassau Community College, however my primary education has been through experience. From a young age I worked as a C.I.T. and eventually as a co-head of department at an internationally recognized performing arts summer camp. For 10 years I worked with kids from ages 6-17 training them for rock, jazz, and blues performance. As well as working with students in a one-on-one environment when it was requested. I have also worked as a Guitar, Drum, Piano, and Bass instructor for 5 years at Guitar Center.
