I am a patient and dedicated professional with an unrelenting commitment to providing proper guidance to students with a strong passion for music and creativity. I have garnered considerable experience teaching classical, jazz and popular piano and guitar styles as well as theory, ear training, composition and digital audio production. In addition to piano and guitar I have equal mastery of the drums and Latin percussion. I am also an expert in classical performance theory, improvisation as well as vocal pedagogy and Dalcroze methodology.
For thirteen years, I exemplified a lead-by-example approach for effectively directing students in the New York State public school system to meet and surpass common core goals and objectives. These accomplishments were derived from my exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and exemplary dedication to delivering the best service possible. I continually strive to perform well beyond stated goals and exceed all reasonable expectations!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with an intro lesson to assess the students goals and aspirations and assist them in developing a plan that will facilitate their personal progress.

How did you get started teaching?
As a young adult I taught privately throughout my college years and begin teaching in the public school system in 1998.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all abilities from the youngest learners to adults of all ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I coach alot of musicians including singers and rock bands. i am always fond of watching them perform in public.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that is a good listener. The best teacher is someone who has a strong educational/ philosophical foundation. They also should be willing to be reasonably adaptive to your unique goals and aspirations without compromising the quality of their teaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you commited to daily practice? Is your environment conducive to study?
