My teaching approach: I believe each student is an individual and I never use a blanket approach to teach. I will work with you at a pace that is comfortable for you while still ensuring that you reach your musical goals. My influences are: I am inspired by the music of Rush, Led Zepplin, Bach, Mozart, The Police and everything inbetween.
My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: I teach private guitar lessons: Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 10am-9pm. Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: During the introductory lesson I access the students playing ability by working on simple scale figures and basic chord shapes. This helps me gain insight into the students playing ability and how to proceed forward. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: While my ultimate goal is to make you into an amazing player. My lessons are relaxed and fun. I believe learning a musical instrument should be fun and never stressful. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: My ideal guitar student is anyone who wishes to learn the guitar, no matter how lofty their goals may be. As long as they have a desire to learn and a willingness to practice we will have a lot of fun on your musical journey.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to spend the first few lessons learning my students musical goals. And establishing a comfortable learning pace where the student feels challenged but not overwhelmed or pressured.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Music, have worked as a Session guitarist on both Major and Indie label projects. I was signed as a songwriter/producer/engineer and I have played in countess bands including original and cover projects. I have over 30 years teaching experience and love what I do.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lesson rate for in home lessons is, $35 per half hour and 70 per hour.
My lesson rate for students that travel to me is, $30 a half hour and $60 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was in my first year as a music major I eas hired by a local music school. I stayed on as head guitar teacher at that school for 15 years before deciding to start my own private guitar lesson business.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging in age from 5-70. My students goals have be from a hobbyist to becoming a professional musician themselves. Several of my students have gone on to becoming music teachers themselves on is even proforming on Broadway now.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My tribute band Zofolk has preformed with Randy Jackson of Zebra and Billy Joel's guitarist.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your teacher can read music and has at least an associate's degree in music.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
None, open communication is the key to a great learning experience.
