About

Kevin graduated from Southington High School (CT) in 1996 where he was named the USA Today Connecticut State Player of the Year. He received a scholarship to pitch at Marist College, a division one program in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he was nominated team captain as a Junior. In 1999, Kevin was rated the 76th best college prospect according to Baseball America. He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 1999 MLB Amateur Baseball Draft. Kevin pitched for 6 years in the Mariners farm system, reaching the AA level. In 2001, after going 13-4 with a 3.32 ERA and 158 strikeouts, while only walking 40, he was named to the Midwest League All-star team, playing along side future MLB All-Stars, Miguel Cabrera, Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Morneau. In 2003, after winning the Texas League (AA) Championship, Kevin had surgery to repair his shoulder. Multiple arm injuries after that forced him to retire in 2005. He returned to New York to pursue his other dream as a special education teacher and currently teaches in Ozone Park, NY.
