Within a short time you will be playing full and satisfying solo classical guitar pieces and/or authentic flamenco guitar music. All of my students play extremely well - so will you.
I give you a solid foundation of basic classical and/or flamenco guitar technique, which prepares you to then move properly and more easily to intermediate and advanced music, and I focus on the kind of music you like best.
CLASSICAL - For classical guitar I teach in the famed tradition of the Madrid school, passing down all I learned from professors of classical guitar of the University of Madrid. You will learn to read music as you learn all of the techniques used in playing classical guitar.
FLAMENCO - Student for many years of the great virtuoso Mario Escudero. I teach in Mario's legacy of authentic traditional flamenco. You will learn all of the techniques used in flamenco, and just as importantly you will learn how to play the music and make it sound like flamenco.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by laying a foundation of basic guitar technique, and then progress to focusing on whatever genre of music my student has interest in. I combine teaching basic technique with teaching how to read music, so in a very short time my students are playing actual pieces of music.
