About this pro

Dance has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old. I have a deeply rooted passion for it and that passion and love is what fuels my teaching. I am extremely versatile being trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. I started training at the acclaimed Larkin Dance Studio in St. paul MN. Their students have been seen on SYTYCD, Broadway, Commercials, and World of Dance. I moved out to NYC 5 years go to attended Pace University where I studied Dance and Musical Theatre. Currently I live in Minnesota and I am on the teaching staff at JAMM Dance company (Rosemount) Esteem Dance (Plymouth and Eden Prairie) and Lundstrum Center for Performing Arts (Minneapolis).

Which ever style you are interested in learning more about, we will focus on technique as well as the intention and meaning behind the movement. I love working in one on one settings so I can focus 100% of my attention on my student. Dance can be an extremely vulnerable art because you are expressing your emotions through your body, (and the body doesn’t lie!), so I always do my best to create a safe, non-judge mental, and positive environment.

Transformation has always been a word that holds important meaning to me. It’s what I enjoy most about teaching dance: helping others transform. Not only will dance improve your physical health, it will enhance your overall emotional, mental and spiritual health. I love guiding others towards transformation through dance and seeing their growth through our process of working together. I always find that not only do my students learn from me, I learn from them! That is always an enjoyable process for me.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching at an extremely young age. When I was 13 I began giving private lessons in Jazz technique and competition dance solo coaching to the younger girls at my dance studio. From there teaching has always been a part of my life!

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with a varierty of students over the years each ranging in ability and style of dance. My versatility and intuitive adaptibilty to each person enables me to do so. Students come to me when they want to focus on improving their technique, when they want to start fresh with dance, and when they need a coach or choreograpger for a performance piece they are working on. A huge part of performing is artistry and intention behind the movement, so with my acting and theatre background, I have a special ability to hear what the music is saying and translate that intention into movement.
