What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First lessons in an evaluation to observe where the students knowledge base lies. Typically in ballet the student is requiring basic technique, stability and working leg exercise to assist finding ones centre. Age and level appropiate exercise are implemted at a steady pace promting musicality, grace and an understanding of why and how to move the various muscles to achieve the desired outcome.
In acting, an ability to find the voice, perform a small dialogue and begin to develop the ability of performance with distractions. Age and level appropiate technique is introduced.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduate of American Ballet Theater National Teachers training Ciriculum.
Royal Academy of Dance Teaching Certifications.
Over 30 years teaching experience.

Private lessons ramge from $100 for one hour.
Some classes are appropaite for 2 or more, sharing the cost.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching for over 30 years. I began to teach for my teacher while I was still at Dance school.
I have directed film and TV commercials and teaching was a natural part of directing.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 2 years old in Ballet. Teaching them how to independently say good bye to
care- givers and parents, knowing they will return at the end of the class. Dressing them selves and getting ready for a learning experience.

The dance festival held at Lincoln Centre NYC is dynamic, diversified and exciting. Always a wonderful collection of many international artists, all expressing their love of dance and dedication to an elegant, disciplined lifestyle.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for experience in your teacher. Most of important look to see if the teacher can INSPIRE this is the most important aspect of teaching. Regardless of teaching skills and years of teaching, if a teacher cannot inspire, the student will not progress. And progress is what makes people happy!
