Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First training sessions are about observing. I'm looking mainly for aggresiveness, whats fluid for the player. I then like to add little building blocks little by little. I don't really like to completely overhaul a certain mechanic, because it can be overwhelming and too many concepts to grasp.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've played competitive college ball while at Baruch College, as well as coached at Beginner2Pro LLC and Bluebirds Baseball for the last 7 years. I've also coached the Downtown little league team and Peter Stuyvesant Little league that competed for the LLWS.
How did you get started teaching?
It's who I am.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages. Especially 12+
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One game, i sensed a little passiveness at the plate with our team. I instructed everyone to be ultra aggresive taking swings at strikes. I said 'if anyone on this team takes a called stike without swinging, we're all running.' We scored 9 in the first inning.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you ask questions. If they cant explain it, they probably don't get the concept either.
