About

I specialize in working within the queer community where I focus on providing counseling services to LGBTQIA+ individuals. As part of the community myself, I recognize the very specific needs that we have when it comes to our mental health and wellness care. Often, our needs go unaddressed because we do not feel comfortable opening up to providers who might not understand what our lived experiences are like. Thus, it's my honor to provide a safe space for folx identifiying within the queer community to discuss any challenges, concerns, or obstacles they are facing in any facet of life.

I love being gifted the opportunity to support people during their times of need. It's such an honor to be welcomed into someone's space of vulnerability. I strive to ensure that all of my clients feel safe to show up as their true selves with me, at all times.

Finding the right coach is not an easy process, you got to meet 2-3 before you know youve found the one. Well with Mr. Moran, I knew right away he was the perfect person for me. Hes an amazing listener, filled with empathy, very smart, and not pushy (this is important for me). Im really grateful finding Mr. Moran. Highly recommend!

    Frequently asked questions

When a new client is interested in working together, I typically begin by scheduling a 15-minute free initial consultation with them. During this conversation, we discuss what's bringing the client to counseling services at this time, and I share a bit more about my counseling background and perspective. Further, I answer any questions the client might have.

If the client would like to proceed forward in working together, I'll send my online Intake Forms to them via email to complete at their leisure.

Once these forms are completed, we schedule our first official counseling session, simple as that!

I received my Masters of Science in Psychology from Tiffin University in 2019. Additionally, I hold several years of professional experience in a variety of mental health positions, including through such roles as Clinical Counselor, Substance Abuse Counselor, and Behavior Therapist.

My counseling fee is $100 per 45-minute session.

Although I do not accept insurance, I am happy to offer a sliding-scale fee schedule to meet any financial concerns clients may have.

Mental health challenges have been a personal struggle of mine throughout my life. With time, and the support of my counselors over the years, I've been able to recognize that there is "nothing wrong with me." Instead, I'm a human who is trying to exist in a really difficult, hard, and challenging world where I'm simply doing the best I can.

This is the perspective that I take when working with my clients, and the support from my counselors helped me to want to provide the same support to others to guide them through the difficult waves of life they are experiencing.

I am grateful to have worked with a variety of clients over the years, ranging from pre-school age youth to teens and adolescents, family systems, and adults in later life.

With my private practice, I typically work with folx who align within the LGBTQIA+ community and/or who are allies, family members, or friends of someone within the queer community.

In a recent session, I was assisting a married polyamorous couple explore the challenges they've been navigating when it comes to communication, relationship expectations, and personal needs. During this session, both clients were able to authentically express their emotions to one another safely, emotions that they had been keeping to themselves for quite some time. I was amazed to see the growth experienced by the couple in that single session along with the vulnerability each partner showcased for themselves and one another.

The biggest piece of advice I'd give to a prospecitve client is to take time to find the provider who best meets your needs.

A healthy counseling relationship is the most important factor in a successful counseling experience for a client. For counseling to be successful and beneficial, clients must feel safe with their provider, seen and understood by their provider, and able to share themselves honestly and authentically.

I encourage prospective clients to "shop around" to find the provider who best meets their needs at this time.

Here are some helpful questions prospective clients might want to think through before choosing a counselor:

    - What type of counseling best meets my needs?
    - What am I looking for from my provider?
    - What background would I like my provider to have?
    - What areas of speciality am I looking for in my provider?
    - Do they accept insurance? If not, are they able to meet my current financial situation?
