Music is an art that communicates beyond generations, countries and languages. Music has a magic power that can enhance people’s perseverance, intellectual thinking, aesthetics, and qualities needed in their future success.
I am enthusiastic to devote my skills and passion to students of any level, any age. By combining Asian, Russian and American piano pedagogic tradition and philosophy, my goal is to inspire and to encourage students to achieve their highest potential in piano playing and musicianship. My lessons emphasize on improving pianistic techniques, developing musicianship and enjoying of music making. Lessons are created through imagination, improvisation, story-telling, ear-training and sight-reading, performance and music appreciation.
I teach with great patience, encouragement, displine and with passion about music! Demonstration (myself and recommended recordings) is necessary and essential in my teaching, which helps students to understand more efficiently.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, to know about the student and know the parents' goals, whether learn piano or music for fun, as a hobby, or for piano test, and competition/audition.
Second, I would like to hear how the student play (if not beginners), in order to know their earlier piano learning and level.
Third, the lesson begins and I will see how the student reacts and interacts with me. I usually find different ways to engage the students, like singing, clapping, music theory, and my own demonstrating on the piano.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had piano pedagogy class, and have taught young kids, adult and college students since 2006. I taught at NYU from beginners to advanced students from 2010-2012. I earned my doctoral degree in piano performance (Doctor of Musical Arts).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
In home lessons will apply additional $10-20 depending on the distance. Lessons are 30/45/60 minutes depending on the level and learning efficiency.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginners to advanced students. I would like to cultivate the students love music, and enjoy playing the piano through their own hands. I would love to see they love to share music to others.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My studio recitals have been successfully conducted at New York City Steinway Hall. I enjoy seeing my students' progress and the joys when they play the piano. I am fond of challenge students who are more engaged in music and help them to achieve their highest potentials.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Schedule a lesson would be the best.

What is your goal? Why do you want to begin piano playing and learning? What is your motivation?
