About
My lessons concentrate on the use of lively conversation to help increase phonetic precision and pronunciation, this in turn helps amplify the use of the target language, as well as, the acquisition of pragmatical and semantically understanding and use of a language from a cultural point of view.
Grammar corrections and explanations are given as the conversation ensues, to help students adjust and with time self-correct independently as they progress.
Online games and activities such as Kahoot, Quizzez are used and assigned as homework practice, as well as, readings and vocabulary activities to help expand language structure and vocabulary use and understanding for a more confident and expressive use of the target language.
I love teaching and helping people better understand the grammatical and phonetic nuances of a language, this helps students embrace language learning, thus creating a more confident speaker, open to cultural diversity, and as a teacher, helping achieve that is extremely rewarding.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a teacher, it is important to establish an open and trusting student/teacher relationship. I begin my first class with a casual conversation where both student and teacher can get to know each other, establish goals and assess each other for a potential learning relationship. This in turn helps me better assess the student's language level and where I need to begin and what I need to concentrate my teaching effort the most in order to help my student succeed.
Once that's established, our classes will concentrate on working all language skills, with an emphasis on the problem areas in a fun, dynamic way, to help the student shed the initial language jitters and quickly grow more confident with his or her language understanding and use.

How did you get started teaching?
I moved to Mexico with the intention of studying my Post-Graduate Degree in Visual Arts and began to teach English as a side job. However, the demand to teach and my love of teaching become greater than my desire and time to further my art career. As a result, I put my plans to continue my art education and career on hold for a while and dedicated myself to pursue Linguistics and Language teaching as a new career path.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught professional and university level students from all over the world through my work on iTalki, as well as, at a number of universities throughout Mexico City.
