Greetings!
My name is Diane. I am currently a Minister of Music at my church and have been so for 30 years. I not only can teach you how to read music and play the piano, but I can also help you if you have an ear for music and want to learn how to enhance that as well. This would be for beginners age 5 on up. I have even taught adults as mature as the age of 60+. I truly have a passion to see people succeed in whatever they desire to accomplish in life. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet someone. My ultimate goal is to make them feel at ease. I also want to meet with them to see what their interests, aspirations and goals are. This helps me to incorporate this into their lesson experience. I also share things about myself as well. I believe that when this takes place, our experience with each other will be ore beneficial and productive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience as well as having graduated from the School for the Creative and Performing Arts as a Vocal and Music Major. I have taught Vocal lessons as well, and not only have I taught students as young as 4, but I've also had students as mature as 60+ years also.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do have a standard pricing system. I charge by the month due to previous experiences. This seems to work better because the student is committed to their lesson, as well as it holds me, the instructor accountable as well. I am committed 100% to your personal growth. My monthly charge is $75.00 which is $15 to $18 per lesson depending on how many weeks there are in a particular month.
How did you get started teaching?
I actually began teaching privately because I kept getting requests to do so. I absolutely enjoy doing it!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 4 up to the mature age of 60+. I take those who are interested in learning.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest to the student searching for an instructor to find someone who is passionate about music. You also want someone who is interested in helping you meet your goals and shows interest in doing so.
