Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first ask to see a short monologue that the student has prepared so I can gage their raw talent. The classes are then tailored to the student's specific needs. I also take time to learn the student's goals and dreams. This is an extremely important phase that helps me know what kind of training will suit the student best.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA in Speech Communication and Theater
Training at the Film Actor's Studio, Los Angeles
Voice: Janice Cavalier, New York
Classical: Francis Pendleton
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Traditionally I work at a $15.00 per hour rate, but if the distance is far I will add an additional fee or request that the student train for 2 or more hours at a time. This helps me cover travel costs.
How did you get started teaching?
In a nutshell, when you direct children in a play, you are teaching them. I began directing School age children at Kent Summer Stock. I then was recruited by Arts Excel in Trumbull County to teach acting for 7- 9th grade students. My teaching took off from there.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students from the age of two to teen from all experience levels and all walks of life. I have also worked one on one with adults, helping them to prepare a monologue for an audition.
