Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students have the opportunity to come into the studio and try a variety of classes of their choice. We want a child to try different classes with different teachers, and try a variety of styles of dance. There are so many options, we want to ensure that the child chooses the best class to fit their desires and needs. Every child has a mind of their own, and a certain passion. With allowing them to try as many classes as they want until they find the right fit for them, we feels that's the best way!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of the teachers/instructors at DDC are dance professionals and have a wide variety of experience, knowledge, and education in the field of dance, music and art.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer a yearly fee broken down into 10 monthly payments, to make it affordable for all families. For example if you have 1 child taking one-1 hour class per week, the monthly fee would be $50.00 from September-June. They don't neccesary have to start in September, but that is highly recommended. We have students join up until November if the class is not full. We do our annual dance recital every year in june at independence middle school. That is optional, but most kids really enjoy it and love to show off what they learned all year! Parents love watching their kids perform on stage!
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all kids starting at age 2, all the way to adult!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The diamond dance Center kids were given one of the best opportunities ever, in history of DDC! Allison Collins (owner of Diamond Dance Center) received A phone call from the director of "kidz bop" which is a world wide music group that produces music geared toward children. They contacted Allison and said they were looking for a dance troop to open up their concert! They said they were researching studios in the Cleveland area because they wanted one dance troupe to open up the show. They found information on diamond dance center, and loved what they saw, and they wanted them! So they told them to choreograph a piece using thier music, and send them a clip and they would let us know if they were going to for sure choose us. So Allison choreographed a dance along with two of the DDC teachers Hannah Giera and Audrey Sycz, the three of us came up with an amazing dance for them! I submitted it to them, and the next day they called me back saying " yes we were for sure the opening act" never in a million years did I think it would of been as amazing as it was! Watching our girls on stage, opening up for a sold out concert, was beyond incredible. I was honestly speechless, and couldn't of been more proud!
