I provide personalized lessons to assist individuals with aquatic safety. I’m passionate and knowledgeable with swimming techniques and tips. I provide lessons from 6 months to adults which includes beginners, intermediate and advanced stroke techniques as well.
I am a Red Cross certified lifeguard, water safety instructor and lifeguard instructor also.
I enjoy the progression of my students as they grow, learn and accomplish to overcome fears and learn new skills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A phone/in person interview with prospective student and or parent to establish any and or prior experience with swimming and from there determine goals, boundaries and expectations. Test their in water abilities at a given location. In water lesson varies from 30-60 minutes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
American Red Cross lifeguard for 23 years.
Water safety instructor for 20 years.
Lifeguard instructor for 20 years.
I swam for local recreation center swim team for 7 years, Bedford high school team for 4 years and Cleveland state university team for 2 years. I’ve been a swim team coach for 6 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Parent and child (6mo-3 years old)-30 minutes $25/lesson.
Child (3-12 years)-30 minutes- 25/lesson.
Teen (13-17 years)-30-45 minutes $25-30/lesson.
Adult (18 years+) a 30-60 minute $25-$50/lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching once I was certified as water safety instructor at local recreation center, I furthered my experience while attending Cleveland state university.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have had the pleasure and honor to work with infants, toddlers, youth, adults and elderly. I have had interactions with special needs as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A seventeen year old senior in high school who would be going to the marines and had no knowledge of swimming and fear of face in water. Within two week span he was swimming across pool, learned how to float and tread water. He went to a week training facility and came back and said he passed the pre test skills.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You have to feel comfortable with instructor to learn and be willing to try and succeed.
