Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We go through in depth questions and answer session with the players and parents to see exactly what they want to improve on. Then we sit down and design a personal practice plan that will help our players excel.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played baseball my whe life up through high school and into adulthood. I still play baseball by volunteering at The Ohio History Connection for The Ohio Village Muffins. I have been a volunteer coach for over 17 years from Tee Ball through High School.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We charge $30 an hour with standard 1 or 2 hour lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I was ask to help out my son's struggling Coach Pitch team way back in 2000. From then on I have coached at least 2 teams and gave private lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with Tee Ballers up to High School players.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I think the best advice I can give is to find a coach who fits into their playing philosophy. Every coach has their own style just like every player has his, the most important thing is for the two to mesh.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They need to question what they want to get out of lessons, as well as know their limitations. Not everyone is built to be a top pitcher or first base men. Every player has places they excel and sometimes getting them to realize that is the toughest job a coach has.
