Sheri Lynn Golf
About
Hi, I have been playing golf since I was ten, but did not start playing competitively until after my college graduation. I played two years on the Players West Professional Women's Golf Tour, then another two years on the Ladies Challenge Professional Tour before hanging up my golf clubs to become a wife and mother.
While playing professionally, I studied under the tutelage of golf professional Tom Drisler in Phoenix, AZ. After "retiring" from playing, I started teaching the sport I love and have taught for over fifteen years. I currently am the varsity girls' golf coach at Jonathan Alder High School in addition to teaching golf at Steve Lynn Golf Performance.
My passion is to help women and children learn to love the game as much as I do by helping them build a golf game that they can be proud of. No more fear of embarrassing yourself on the first tee. Fun comes with confidence and that is what I want to build in you!
Scared to take the next step and take lessons? I have the solution for you. Bring three of your closest friends. Group lessons are the way to go. You can laugh together and learn together. Build memories and take away the inhibitions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet with you, we will discuss your goals and develop a plan to get you where you want to go.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played professionally for four years and have been teaching for over 15 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
A normal lesson is approx 45 minutes long.
$75 per lesson
Group lessons are avaiable. During the winter I am limited by space in the indoor facility that I use so 4 is the maximum I can include in a group. During summer, the number is unlimited.
2 people $50 each
3 people $35 each
4 or more $ 25 each
Discount packages are avaiable for a series of lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I love the game of golf and I love stepping onto the first tee knowing that I am going to hit it down the middle - Especially when the first tee is backed up and the men are thinking "Oh great, a woman. This will be a slow round." Then I crush my drive 20 yards past them and say, "It may be a slow round, but not because of me." I want every woman to feel the same confidence - to have the opportunity to find their inner golfer. You may not be able to hit it as far as I do, but there is no reason that you can't hit it straight and far enough to play good golf.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with every kind of student from the youngest children to the weekend warrior dads. I especially enjoy teaching women who are just starting out because I have a clean slate to work with and the quick improvement is fun to see. I also love children and the exuberance they bring to their lessons.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There are many teachers out there who are very good. Each one will have their own philosophy and personality. Find someone who you enjoy being around and who is excited to teach you. Make sure that the goals of your instructor match your own. If you just want to learn a solid game of golf, you may not want an instructor who is passionate about finding the next LPGA or PGA star. If your goal is to play professionally, find someone who has the facilities, equipment and knowledge to get you there.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Keep in mind what your long term goals are. Do you want a "tune-up" lesson or are you looking to invest in your game to become a solid golfer? Some instructors will offer discounts if you buy your lessons as a package with multiple lessons. Others charge by the month (Especially instructors who teach at indoor facilities because they have overhead expenses that have to be covered) Ask if they teach group lessons, so you can take lessons with your friends and lower your cost.
