Michael Morris, Acting And Public Speaking Coach
About
Many acting teachers and coaches works from the outside in, meaning they start with basic mannerisms and dialects and how a character would walk or stand and then focus on how a character would act and react. My approach is working from the inside out. I coach my students to think like the character and let their own personality inform how the character would walk or stand and then focus on details such as dialect and mannerisms. If an actor or public speaker isn't thinking like who they want to portray, then nothing else matters.
To be an actor or a public speaker one has to have a certain brand of confidence in order to truly connect with an audience. I love seeing my students learn this confidence and be able to convey that confidence to anyone in any setting!
