Hoffman Academy Portland
About
In 2007, Joseph Hoffman decided to pursue a lifelong dream and moved to Portland, Oregon with his wife and two sons to start a music academy. Hoffman Academy of Music has experienced rapid growth, and now serves over 250 students with a faculty of 11 teachers.
The aim of the Hoffman Method is to create well-rounded musicians who not only play, but who truly comprehend music. To achieve this, the Hoffman Method emphasizes the seven areas of learning: music theory, ear training, improvisation, sight reading, technique, solfege, and rhythm.
