My teaching approach: My approach to teaching is to find your comfort level first and then work from there. I am a graduate of Musicians Institute where I was trained in performance and improv. Some of my gear includes an G&L Legacy HB, Gibson ES339, Fender Telecaster, Mesa Boogie Maverick, Fender Hot Rod My influences are: Jimi Hendrix, Trey Anastasio, Jeff Beck, Jerry Garcia, David Gilmour, Carlos Santana, Duane Allman, Jimmy Page, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Eric Clapton, Dickey Betts, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Marley. My guitar lessons take place in: The student's home Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: Monday-Saturday. Hours can be flexible Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Scales and Exercises Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I usually ask the student to show me what they know, what songs they know and what kinds of music interests them the most. We will also do some basic jams with each other to get the chemistry flowing. I try to assess their skill level and what their own expectations are and then we work from there. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: A lesson with me will be about you. If it is our first lesson, we are going to explore what your current skill level is and work our way up. We will be learning the basics. They are a solid foundation for any student. We won't start off learning how to shred and play 32nd note arpeggios. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: My ideal student is a beginner or intermediate student that has an interest in sounding good and becoming a productive musician whether they are on stage or in the studio.
