Nick Edmonds Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I lay down my plan for the student on the second lesson after I have assessed the student. I give them the basics of what I believe they should learn but I put it in their hands to tell me what they want to learn. When I took lessons i like my teachers because thats what they did for me. I have 2 acoustic guitars one is acoustic electric. One is a yamaha and the acoustic electric is a fender I have a 2 electric guitars. One is a fender starter, and the other one is a gibson. I have a drum machine to use to play beats for a song. I dont do recordings because i only beach beginners
My influences are:
My biggest influence to play an instrument was my mom. She forced to play tell I graduated 8th grade and im still playing to day. Im going to be a freshman. My biggest musical influence is The Beatles. I am a huge Beatles fan.
My guitar lessons take place in:
The teacher's studio or the student's home
Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:
Your house if you live in SW Bend, if not my house.
Guitar Techniques:
Guidance In Equipment Selection, Scales and Exercises, Reading Music, Jamming Skills, Improvisation, Performance, Open tuning, Lead guitar
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
I ask the student what they already know about guitars, and if they know any chords or scales then I will teach them chords that they dont know and go from there.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
The first lesson is the same for everyone. I teach you 3 chords (G, D, A) the names of each String and the E minor pentatonic. On the second lesson I go over what the first lesson was briefly then i teach you a song with only G, D, and A based on your skill level then go from there.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
Some one who has a good attention span, good dexterity and can focus. Someone who is determined. Likes the Beatles. With little to no guitar experience.
