Sea Pixie Studio

About

Enjoy a private studio space in a country setting where you can watch the hummingbirds tussle, say hello to a friendly deer and watch eagles and hawks. You'll also enjoy a Bose sound system with your favorite music while creating.

I believe getting lost in art is one of the best ways we can get through these crazy times and know there is great healing in art.

My studio is set up for a variety of arts and crafts, such as (but not limited to): acrylic painting, mandala painting, acrylic fluid painting, beginning and intermediate airbrushing, pastels, prismacolor, abstract, charcoal or graphite drawing, paper making, mask making, wreath making, drift wood art, multi-media, seasonal lessons to make: authentic rose beads, lavender wands, and sacred sage smudging sticks.

If I haven't mentioned it above, just ask me. I have the capability and suppplies for just about any art medium and lots of craft supplies.

Stations in my studio are flexible and can be set up for just about anything and a new utility sink that has just been installed.

I'd love to have you come and enjoy my space and benefit from my years of art training and knowledge as being a successful artist for over 20 years.

Let's relax and make some art!

Am I an artist? I've always considered that a "baited" question and should be left in the eye of the beholder. I have six years of college art courses including extensive art history classes. I obtained a Graphic Design degree and was going to finish up 2 classes to become a high school art teacher but my scholarship discontined the program and offered me a 2 year intership instead at a large Exhibit house in Portland, I spent the next two years learning to silk screening, how make three dimensional graphics and run a lazer cutter.

I spent the next 20 years making a living in a very specific nitch of art with an art entertainment business. It was a very successful venture and through my work in my business I was awarded many international awards, was published in many different medias including a Billboard in Orlando Florida and some of my work has been used in several movies.

My work has shown at: The Howe Gallery, Sixth Street Gallery, and the Peace Art Gallery.

I have done commisions for: The Portland Art Museum, President Senator Courtney's at the Capitol Building and many more.

Portfolios available on request.

My life would be nothing without art. I love to play and create and teach art.

Finishing a craft or art piece and standing back and looking at it with a feeling of accomplishment is one of the best feelings you can experience.

The instruction from Sea Pixie Studio is thorough and direct! I’ve learned so much from her and I am the artist I am because of her teaching. I’ve learned to airbrush, cut fine, detailed stencils, and advanced brushwork technique that brought me to the next level as an artist. I highly recommend her!

    Frequently asked questions

I first speak with them on the phone to get a feel for what they are wanting to achieve, the kind of experience they are looking for, thier level, age group and any special needs they have so I can make lesson plans that fit them individually.

I have over 320 college art and acedemic credits along with a Graphic Design degree.

I took 2 full years of figure drawing and many classes on painting and drawing. My agenda was to be a high school art teacher but my scholarship got pulled to finish up the acedemic teaching portion because at the time art was being removed from the public school system.

I did a full year internship at Color and Design where I worked on amazing projects like: Cold Water Ridge Visitors Center, Seattle Doll Museum, and other exhibits and displays.

I had the honor of being commissioned to paint and finished very large wall murrals for the American Legion and the Eagles as well as private murals.

My work has been internationally awarded and published in many magazines, a bill board, newspapers, books and other forms of media.  I have also been shown and featured in several Portland galleries and have done commissioned pieces for the Portland Art Museum.

I ran a successful art based entertainment business for over 20 years that unfortunately had to close it's doors due to Covid.

I have done commissioned art for Senator Peter Courtney at the State Capitol building for 3 years.

Was a hired artist for the Portland Timbers and Thorns MLS Soccer teams for 9 years.

So as you can see my life is art and has always been art.

I don't limit my media as I like to have options and not think inside anyone's box. Mutli media is by far my favorite choice.

I tutored art all throught High School and College.  During the summers, I ran and taught the Art Program at The Boys and Girls Club in Rapid City, South Dakota.

I have also trained and taught many staff airbrush classes.

I have worked with all ages and have experience working with the disabled.
