What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A discussion of the students desire to improve, learn the game, or to instruct in certain game aspects such as: sand play, rough, driving, or putting. Then a convienent time is scheduled for 30 minute lesson that usually goes to 45 minutes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Lifelong golfer with over 60 years experience. Since retiring been a professional for 9 years and have gone through PGA Levels 1 & 2. Have years of experience working with children teaching them golf skills. Continue to improve my teaching through new methods and teaching skills.

How did you get started teaching?
Started teaching children in the early 1970's and have participated in The First Tee program as a certified coach during the mid 1980's. Coached a kids program here at Highlands of Donegal formally known as Groff Farms in the 1990's. In 2008, I retired from business and entered the PGA Assistant's Program in Austin, Texas, and have been a Teaching Professional ever since. I absolutely love teaching the wonderful game of golf.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds of students. Men and women of all ages, children and beginners. I hold clinic for adults and children as well as camps for kids.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I started four years ago holding "Let's Talk Golf" events at Highlands of Donegal during the winter months. Each Wednesday begining in early January I hold a discussion about golf for one hour. The event is free and I have had about 1,000 people attend these event since I began them.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'm a Certified Instructor of the Peak Performance Golf Swing by Don Trahan. The first golf swing that has combined the physics of the ball and club, and the physiology of the body, to produce, as close as we can, as easily as we can, the "perfect golf swing" within the limits of our body. What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Most student amateurs have no idea what causes a golf ball to do what it does. Learning about the game is very complicated to do on your own.
