About

With performances described as “musically evocative” and a skill at engaging audiences in the musical dialogue, Dr. Katelyn Bouska is a frequent solo and collaborative musician. Active in concerts in the United States, she also performs abroad including venues in Canada, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Philippines. With her ability to perform a broad range of repertoire ranging from early music to the most contemporary, she is at ease on clavichord, harpsichord, fortepiano and modern piano.

She maintains a busy schedule as a pedagogue while focusing on performing in a variety of venues and collaborations. With her unique combination of performance practice expertise, long-term study of the Alexander Technique, and international study and performance, she is in demand as a teacher at the private and university level. She also has been featured as guest faculty and held masterclasses at the collegiate level. Her desire for increased musical connections and experience has led to short-term studies in Vienna, Prague, Brno, southern France, and Toronto. In addition to her recently completed doctoral degree, she also holds master degrees in piano/harpsichord performance and a Professional Studies Certificate in chamber music from Temple University. Currently residing in Philadelphia, Katelyn is on faculty at Temple University and the Curtis Institute of Music.

She frequently engages with local student composers and performers to help them expand their experiences and skills. Katelyn presents annual benefit concerts as well as volunteers her time as an educator and performer. In addition to her passion for introducing little-known Czech music to wider audience, Katelyn also actively collaborates with emerging professional composers to communicate their music to wider audiences. She is a founding member of a new music collective, “Human Resonance,” that partners with composers to present their music at unique concert venues aimed for large community involvement.
