Having coached and trained 12,000 people throughout my 27-year coaching career, I am passionate about helping people live a fit and healthy lifestyle, and I am compassionate about the people who I coach and train.
FITNESS & FASHION ARE MY PASSIONS! I am a fashion designer, who, after attending running camp in Vermont, discovered the love of running that changed my life. I got certified as a personal trainer and running coach and set out to impart my knowledge, so that I could make a positive impact in peoples’ lives. Watching my runners cross the finish line of a race, gives me great joy.
Whether its training you to run your first race or third marathon, I’ll be with you from start to finish line!

How did you get started teaching?
I attended running camp in Vermont one summer and it changed my life. At the camp, I was a camper who was being coached. That's where I found out that I had genetic talent to run, and that I wanted to help others. I started coaching in 1992, and have coached 12,000 runners.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with people who are just stepping "out the door" to do their first walk/run... to experienced and competitive marathoners looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon, win age group awards, and set a new personal record in a race.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The excitement of all races... be it a small, local 5K to a major city marathon... are all exciting to me. This is especially true when I am cheering for the runners who I've coached for the race. Seeing them in the race and crossing the finish line is a win-win for both of us!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice is that you look for a running coach who has coached many people who are at different levels. Also, that the coach has written training schedules for all the different levels and goals. These requirements are necessary because "one type of training does not fit all". It's best not to choose a coach because they have won races. It's important for the coach to be able to work with all levels of runners, not just award winners, like themselves.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your running, fitness, and health goals?
Do you have any injuries?
What is your nutrition like? Do you follow any special diet?
Are you presently running? Explain your current training.
Are you training for a race?
When is the race?
What distance is the race?
Is this your first race, or what other races have you run?
