I have had many years of teaching voice and piano at many levels privately and at Settlement Music School and St. Basil Academy. My students have gone on to study music at colleges and universities.
I am also an active performer and have performed in Carnegie Recital Hall in New York, Chicago Symphony Hall and other important concert halls throughout the United States as well as in venues in Europe.
I aim to instill in each student a love of music and to do this with his or her voice or at the piano keyboard. It is a joy to see each student progress and reach their full potential musically.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I learn about the student's present level of accomplishment - are they completely beginners or have had some experience or lessons.
I suggest appropriate teaching materials.
We study technique and pieces appropriate to each student and in various genres.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Piano and voice lessons before college. Piano and voice study at University of the Arts. Bachelor's degree cum laude. Master's degree at University of Pennsylvania. Master's classes with noted teachers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $25 for a 1/2 hour lesson for students, $30 for adults for piano. $30 for a 1/2 hour lesson for students, $40 for adults for voice.
How did you get started teaching?
The voice teacher for whom I was working as a piano accompanist hired me as a piano teacher. This was in high school. After college I was hired by Settlement Music School in Philadelphia.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners and advanced students from all walks in life and from many backrounds culturally and musically.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my students who has been studying with me from her very first piano lesson, performed the Chopin Fantasie - Impromptu for a large audience who were enchanted and impressed with her technical ability as well as her musicality.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who relates to you musically.
