About
Nothing makes me happier than being able to teach students and help them become better at playing the flute and understanding the music they are spreading to others. I love helping my students achieve more and inspiring and stimulating them to become better musicians through regular practice and a sense of independence. My goal is to empower my students with confidence and a strong basis for technique, musicianship, and beautiful tone. I take the time to understand my student as an individual so we can work toward their personal goals effectively.
I was offered full ride and scholarship as a Fellow at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and I recently graduated Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Flute Performance with a University Honors. I also have training experience and a certificate from Juilliard Pre-College Division as well as the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division. I have played in All-State Bands and Orchestras, and have been teaching/offering clinic sessions for Band students (for Flute) for 6 years.
I teach in my apartment in Urbana IL, but I am willing to travel and or teach virtually via Skype, Facetime, or Zoom.
I love spreading joy and love of music. I also love developing problem solving skills for individual students. It is a joy to see students grow over time as an intellectual and emotional player.
