About
My teaching style stems from my experience as a professional singer. I’ve been in GRAMMY award winning groups and performed in plays, musicals, and choirs all around the world AND I’m still performing. Some teachers tell you what to do or how to sound, but they don’t have any idea what it’s like to live a performer’s lifestyle. They have a single way to teach all voices and all types of singing without concern for your individual needs. My practical performance experience mixed with the principles of Somatic VoiceworkTM(the Lovetri Method) means the most important thing is YOU and YOUR voice. Every voice is different and special in its own way - you deserve to get practical training customized to fit your unique voice. As a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), you can be sure your lessons are up to date with the latest trends, techniques, and voice research in order to find the best ways to get you singing. Together we’ll build the courage and confidence you need to put yourself out there, to challenge yourself, and to try new things. And, above all else, we’re going to have a LOT of fun doing it!
Getting to know people and their voices one-on-one is my favorite part about teaching. It allows me to cater every part of a lesson to each person's unique needs and skill set. I love being able to develop a personal connection working on something as personal and special as one's voice.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
After a short Zoom call to talk about your goals, I prefer to get started singing right away. Some teacher's like to perscribe a certain song for every new student, but I like to hear you sing what you like to sing! There's a zillion songs out there, so we might aw well do one you like!!!
We'll work on some vocal exercises that can strengthen and expand your voice, and then we'll work together to continue to find songs that will appropriately challenge you while also still be fun to sing,

How did you get started teaching?
I've been singing since I was born! I did all kinds of plays, musicals, and choirs in high school, college and grad school. I loved what I was doing, but I always had questions about how the voice actually works. I started doing some research and attending lectures and classes and realized that there was a shortage of teachers who know how to teach popular music styles (pop/rock/jazz/musical theatre). I was never privvy to this kind of training growing up, and I made it my mission to share the knowledge I gained with as many aspiring singers as I can!
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds: kids, teens, adults; beginners and advanced singers; professionals and those that like to just sing for fun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who you vibe with who will also tell you the truth in a supportive environment.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do you want to take lessons?
What do you hope to get out of these lessons?
What music do you like?
