I teach students to read, theory and not just “how” to play songs. I also establish a great working and teaching atmosphere. I take students and parents to different genre concerts. Ive been teaching out of my home studio since 1998. I’ve had several students go on to earn their degree in music and music performance from colleges such as, Belmont, Southern Wesleyan, South Carolina and I’ve had three graduate from Southc Carolina Govenors school for the arts.
I have a BA in music with a concentration in Classical Guitar from Southern Wesleyan University 2006
I perform at least twice/three times a season in Community theater.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial interview with student and parents. Establish lesson/practice routine. Describe my expectations based on student’s level. My expectations at each following weeks lesson.

How did you get started teaching?
It was just a natural step. I had been playing for about 15-20 yrs and I thought to myself that I could teach professionally and get out of the 9-5 day gig.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone that establishes a great teacher/student relationship that also fosters a safe, fun and productive learning environment
