I Teach Theory during the lesson I do not assign it for homework. I feel like it is an important part of music to learn. My lessons also include music theory games to teach notes and rhythm better. My students get to pick 1 fun song they like to learn besides the music I choose.
As a teacher, I enjoy watching kids learn to play music. I enjoy seeing the kids each week. I cry sometimes when I have had a student for a long time and they graduate and stop coming. I always form a bond with my students and each one is a joy.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
i introduce myself and find out what my student knows so we know where to begin.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took Piano for 15 years and Majored in music. I played the flute, piccolo and bassoon in the band.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $17.00 a lesson and if a lesson is missed the payment is still due and I will make the lesson up with the student.
How did you get started teaching?
I strted teaching my nieces and then kids at church.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with 5 year olds through highschool. I have gotten 2 students ready for Miss Teen Memphis and 1 of them won and used piano as her talent. Every year I send as many students that want to go to Amro's Spring and Fall music festival and they have all plaed with 1st or 2nd place ribbons. We start working on it 2 months before the festival.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The spring and Fall Festivals are exciting to me and I love Christmas time. We start learning Christmas music in October so by December the kids have songs they can play for there family.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someon that can teach at a level the student can understand and a patient person. I believe you should be sweet to your students. I alway give a treat to my kids when their lesson is over. I also think the teacher should teach basic principles and technique.
