I started doing West Coast Swing in 1998, I competed at it from 2001 to 2016 from Jack & Jill, Strictly Swings, ProAm's, and Classic routines. West Coast Swing consists of six and eight count patterns, which are done in a slot. In West Coast Swing, the woman no longer rocks back as in East Coast swing, but instead she always walks forward on count one. Otis Redding, Dierks Bentley, Eminem, Michael Jackson, Sam Smith, and many more musicians you can dance West Coast Swing. This dance has no bounce and has a very smooth feel. Rarely will you see high kicks or moves which require the dancer to leave the floor in West Coast Swing. I also can teach Waltz, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, and Tango.
