About
Photography is an art with a scientific side and you need to understand both. We begin with the science, the tecnical how-to's that opens the door to the art where you can capture and create the images you want to see. Most important of all, we make sure the learning process is fun and never boring; easy to understand and even easire to remember and apply.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The process begins with answers to 3 simple questions:
ONE: What are you seeking to accomplish
TWO:What type of camera are you using
THREE: Share photos you've taken & want to take
Some people want to become better hobbist; others want to move away from auto settings and others want to move into the professional ranks. Knowing what the student wants to accomplish determines my starting point as their teacher & guide.
While every camera performs the same function, each is a little bit different and knowing what my student is using helps me to help them master it. All too often there is a setting that will help them resolve a technical (science) issue which will almost them to place more focus on the creative (artistic) side of photography. Some may be using a smartphone; others may be using a fixed lens camera which others may have a camera with several lens and off camera flash. Whereever the student is at is where we will begin.
Knowing what a person enjoys & is proud of is essential to helping them get better at it.
