Chris Bingham Music Lessons
About
I focus on the development of musical skills that will last a lifetime. Every student has different learning needs, and I have years of experience discerning how to reach all types of learners. The goal and outcome is to expand your abilities and understanding of music so that you can have more fun performing and practicing.
I have a graduate degree in choral conducting and am equally qualified to teach voice and piano. I have sung with major professional organizations and played piano for world-class ensembles.
Most students benefit from the development of music-reading skills, but genre and style are up to the student. All ages, abilities, and musical interests welcome!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step with a new student is finding out what music they like to play and what their abilities are. I try to identify one area that we can make a little success in right off the bat.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BA Music Intruction, Southern Oregon University
MM Choral Music, University of Southern California
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30/half hour
$40/45 minutes
$50/hour
How did you get started teaching?
Word of mouth through church, school, and community members
What types of students have you worked with?
Children as young as 5 to adults in their 70's. I've had students that have never had a lesson before and do not yet know how to read music. I've also had students that compete and perform auditions.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Conducting a choir sing the National Anthem at a MLB baseball game.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to find a teacher that will help you or your child develop lasting musical ability and knowledge. People take lessons for years and never learn to read music and don't remember any of the songs they learned. That seems like a waste.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what you're hoping to get out of music instruction and how I can help connect the dots. Whether you're looking to play for your own enjoyment around the house, hoping to prepare for a choir audition, wanting to write songs, wishing to prepare duets to entertain your friends at dinner parties, or looking into a musical career, I can help.
