About
I am a 50+ year professional, working in theater, film, and television. My private teaching practice started over 30 years ago, but I currently teach at the university level. I specialize in acting for all skill levels, classical performance, voice acting, and acting for the camera.
My favorite part of teaching is the "lightbulb moment," the instant a light is turned on in a student's eye when she understands an idea or concept. I seek out those moments in every class, challenging students to reach beyond the boundaries they think surround them to achieve their goals no matter how small.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As I value originality first and foremost, understanding each student's need is my top priority. Drawing from my extensive and diverse training and utilizing a variety of strategies and methods, I work to build a safe and creative yet challenging learning environment where each student works and grows at their own speed, learning to be the best they can be.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A show business professional for over 50 years, I am a skilled actor, director, writer, and producer trained in London, New York, and Washington DC. My credits include feature films (Selma, The Longest Ride), television (Dopesick, True Detective, The Resident), and Off-Broadway (Private Life, Engaged). After earning my B.F.A. in Performance Studies at Belmont University, I received an M.F.A. from the Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University.
My teachers and mentors include Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw, and John Barton at the British-American Drama Academy; and Anne Bogart, Jean-Guy LeCat, and members of the SITI Company at the Columbia University School of the Arts; and Robert Perillo, Peter Lobdell, and Mario Siletti at the National Shakespeare Conservatory.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $60 per hour for individual coaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of students, from veteran professionals to first-time actors, but I prefer students 16 years old and up (I also coach students looking to audition for university theater and film programs). My aim is always to meet students where they are and take them to their intended goal and beyond, whether that's a specific audition or simply to explore their own skills.
