About
Music is my greatest passion; whenever I've got a moment to myself, you can find me with a guitar in my hand. I've been playing guitar and bass for almost 14 years now, the last three of which I've spent studying Jazz Guitar Performance at the Blair School of Music here in Nashville, and I've learned that the most important part of playing guitar is learning to love the instrument. My lessons are all unique to each student, and are designed around their own individual goals - want to learn your favorite songs? Or maybe you're a budding singer/songwriter? - and will help you to develop skills, knowledge, and, most importantly, a passion for the guitar that will fuel you throughout your studies.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I take on a new student, I start by working with them to define their goals - these can be as short term as learning a song they like, or as long term as attending a music school. Then, starting from their current skill level, I'll design a flexible lesson plan to help them start toward their goal. I understand that everyone moves at different speeds and learns in different ways, so I try my best to teach every student in the way that works for them; worksheets, exercises, learning songs, and even writing their own music can be exceptional practice methods for students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 14 years of formal guitar instruction under my belt, including three years studying Jazz Guitar Performance at the Blair School of Music. I also have over 5 years of experience teaching guitar to clients from elementary school students to adults - there's never a wrong age to learn!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what it is you want to get out of these lessons. Don't worry too much about the specifics - that's what I'm here for! - but consider why you want to learn so we can design a lesson plan that will get you to your goals.
