Austin Tai Chi & Neighborhood Yoga
About
Our students say:
"It is meditative movement coupled with excellent exercise. And, there’s no better way to learn than from the dynamic duo of Marjorie and Danny at Austin Tai Chi. I’ve been with them for years, and loved every zen and healthy moment of it!" ~ S. McDaniel, JD, Ph.D.”
Tai Chi has been a source of physical strength, balance and spiritual centering for me. I’ve been with Margie and Danny for about 10 years now. Their teaching is traditional and focused on each person’s improvement. You’ll be glad you decided to start. ~ Tracy W.
" Tai Chi has been instrumental in improving my balance and decreasing stress. When I started taking classes, I had fallen several times and was in the midst of an extremely stressful career with high conflict situations. Tai Chi has been a blessing and a joy in my life." ~Mary F.
" Margie's Tai Chi class is helping to lower my blood pressure. It also helped me focus on something for myself throughout a difficult period of unemployment stress. Tai Chi helps me feel stronger. Margie's style of instruction teaches you technique as well as the strategy behind the moves; she's created a system that gets you performing and learning Tai Chi quickly, and if you stick with it, you'll amaze yourself at what you can do during the journey that is Tai Chi." ~ Mel A.
" Tai Chi has helped with my balance and awareness of where I am in space. I feel graceful and focused. It is like a moving meditation. It rejuvenates my energy but I leave feeling calm and centered." ~Bobbie N.
"Margie helps me learn tai chi by breaking down the steps into bite-size pieces. There's a lot to absorb and her teaching method makes it more manageable for me to understand." ~ Noel C.
"I began Tai Chi classes many years ago as a way to better deal with chronic neurologic pain that had plagued me for several months. I found Tai Chi to be both relaxing and yet mentally and physically challenging at the same time. The ebb and flow of the movements, the focus on the body, the concentration on the elements of the form, and the continual introduction of new things to learn all combine to make me a devoted practitioner. I try to do the form several times a week and find that I always feel better after completing it. The focus on stability and balance has definitely improved both for me (I’m now 73). Tai Chi is an exercise that I can continue when my intermittently sore knee acts up and requires a bit of rest from other activities.
Finally, I enjoy the people that are a part of my class every week. I like doing the form both solo and as a part of a class. Each has its own character and attractions. I firmly believe that Tai Chi, like some other activities, is meant to be a communal activity." ~ Bill G.
